Hi Koying, quick question. I have spmc version 16.3. Kodi version 17 is out today. The new version is only for Android 5.0 and up. I have version 4.4.2 on two android boxes and a tablet. SPMC is still very much Kodi right now (he forks the latest Kodi release and adds his stuff in). It just has the Android goodies the Kodi devs argued were a little too hackish for their code base. Not sure one way or another on that myself (I haven't reviewed the code), but it definitely works better on Android than the Kodi base right now. SPMC is an Android-fork of Kodi, is developed and maintained by koying, the former Android programmers for Kodi Foundation. It is the same backbone as Kodi, but has been optimized for the Android operating system. In particular koying has its tests on the Nvidia Shield, So the primary use is in there, but mostly as use the transmission via Amlogic and Amazon CPUs also. After trying to upgrade from Kodi 16.1 to 17.1 and having no luck, I found information about SPMC and went to the Google Play store to install it. Unfortunately I was immediately greeted with âyour device is incompatible with this versionâ. So no SPMC for my brand new MXQPro S905X Android TV box with android 5.1.1. But I wish it worked because Kodi is turning into a nightmare. In that application, SPMC is one of them and the best alternative to Kodi. When Kodi 17 was released, it has stopped working on some tablet and mobile devices. SPMC has replaced the place of it with great frontend multimedia and good user Interface. It re-retired Kodi 17.1 for me :) Been meaning to mess around more with another SPMC 16.8.81 fork I found too, which has a built in auto maintenance wizard (which I'm obviously not sure is a good or bad thing yet).
